I am Monica, specialized in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO), Focusing, Mindfulness and Conscious Communication and the person  behind these pages.

I am Monica, specialized in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO), Focusing and Mindfulness and the person behind these pages.

And, yes, I know from experience that life sometimes gets complicated.

We go from ups to downs, from calm seas in which everything seems to be going smoothly to storms in which we feel fragile, unstable, frustrated and alone, both with or without a partner.

And it is then, in the middle of the storm, when you ask yourself: 

Why is this happening? Again?

What am I doing wrong? Why do I always feel like I'm missing something to be happy? What could I be doing differently? 

Amidst these challenges the good news is that there are powerful tools, whether you are in a couple or not, that can accompany you on the road to creating enduring wellbeing.

As you progress along the path, you will begin to:

Reconnect with your vitality, appreciate your life, what you do and what you contribute to the world.

Feel open, expansive, aligned, with your feet on the ground and a full heart.

Give yourself permission to do things that you love without feeling guilty about it.

Realize that you actually already have everything you need and live with gratitude instead of with a sense of lack.

Improve your communication with others, offering clarity, empathy and assertiveness.

In short, it is a process that helps you move from feeling stuck to embodying your full potential.

This is how I can accompany you on this journey

I work as a non-clinical practitioner and facilitator, offering structured spaces for personal and relational exploration.
I do not provide psychotherapy or clinical mental health services.

My journey began in 1998

I started practicing Yoga when I was 19 years old. It was the only time where I truly felt relaxed, at ease, at peace. I was studying Anthropology at a high-level university and felt under a lot of pressure to perform.

I got hooked on Yoga, became certified as an instructor, but soon realized that the effects wore off quickly and I needed another class to feel better. Now I understand that this is because Yoga, although very helpful, was not enough by itself, I needed to also learn how to work with my emotions and thoughts more skillfully. 

After quite some time of feeling lost and trying different approaches, including a master's in Somatic Education, I finally found something that spoke directly to my heart and resonated with me: Buddhist meditation.

I fell deeply in love with it and went on many long silent meditation retreats (I have done more than 450 days of silent retreat, the longest being 8 months in the USA and Burma). Meditation became the central axis of my life, my main orientation, both personally and professionally, I became a certified MBSR instructor and I began to teach Mindfulness to groups and lead weekly sits as well as retreats.

After many years of Buddhist practice, I started to feel stuck in certain aspects and decided to give IFS therapy and Focusing a try. These 2 methods gave me the tools I was looking for: a clear methodology for how to deeply accompany and listen to what was inside of me.

In meditation it is often said: "Spend time with what is here, fear, anger, doubts, watch them arise and pass away..." but I found this approach (although important for Dharmic Insight) to be limited in exploring my inner world. Thanks to Focusing and IFS I was able to learn how to internally accompany my thoughts and emotions in a fuller and richer way, seeing that they are important messengers and have a lot of wisdom to share when we know how to accompany them.

I also realized that although I had made much progress on my own, it is extremely helpful to have a guide to help one access deeper levels of healing and insight in ways that are difficult to do by oneself. I continued training both in Focusing and IFS, became certified in both methods (I am a Level 3 Certified IFS Practitioner and a Certified Focusing-Oriented Practitioner) and continue to receive supervision and advanced training in both methods, as well as continuing to do my own personal healing work with senior therapists and practitioners. I also help staff IFS and IFIO trainings worldwide.

This process has helped me to consolidate my tools both experientially and professionally. They can help you:

Work with that feeling that something is somehow missing, that you have not quite arrived, have not achieved “it” yet (happiness, well-being, success, ...).

Improve your significant relationships and learn how to build a healthy relationship with a partner in which you feel safe, seen and loved.

Reduce negativity, seeing everything as difficult, without solution, hopeless, as if it’s not going to work anyway.

Reduce anxiety, improve low self-esteem, learn how to say no and set limits that respect your needs.

Learn how to calm your mind and work with difficult emotions that take over or that you try to repress.

Give yourself quality time and avoid burning out from too many tasks and not enough nourishing activities that truly fulfill you. Life is short!

Stop being your worst critic and become your best friend, loving yourself exactly as you are now (without having to wait for the day when you will finally be "perfect" and worthy of love).

Stop living in the past or the future, and learn how to live in the present, fully, the only real moment that exists. Always.

Learn to better manage the stressors of daily life without having a hectic mind and an agitated heart.
